David Bernstein has roots firmly planted in the meat business and is a fourth generation meat industry veteran. He currently represents Strassburger Meats as a sales executive working with some of New York City's hottest restaurants and well known hotels. He was previously VP of Sales at Mountain States Rosen, the largest domestic lamb and veal producer to retail and foodservice chains in America. David also has other passions and interests with a concentration in the healthcare industry. Based on his own needs for chiropractic care and pain management therapies, David partnered with his best friends in 2011 and now runs Manhattan Sports Medicine and Wellness Group, a successful physical medicine and rehabilitation office located on Manhattan's 54th Street.
Hailing from Suffern, NY originally, David now resides in New York City. He enjoys water sports, is an automobile enthusiast, and is a devoted husband and father to his two daughters.
David takes immense pride in the effort he and his best friends put forth each year for the Tailgate with a Cause!
Josh Capon is the seasoned executive chef and partner behind Lure Fishbar, B&B Winepub, El Toro Blanco, and Bowery Meat Co, in New York City’s stylish Soho and Bowery neighborhoods. He became executive chef of Lure Fishbar in 2004 and in 2010, owners John McDonald and Joshua Pickard asked Capon to partner with them in their newest restaurant, B&B Winepub.
Capon is the five-time winner of the People’s Choice award at the New York City Wine Festival’s Burger Bash event for his “Bash-Style” burger, a juicy patty topped with American cheese, pickles, caramelized onions and bacon jam. He has appeared on numerous television shows including The Chew,Rachel Ray Show, Live with Kelly and Michael, CBS Early Show, TODAY and Food Network and has been featured in The New York Times, New York Magazine, Time Out New York and other media outlets.
Capon currently resides in New York City with his family. He enjoys spending time with his family and cooking with his two kids, Amanda and Max.
Dan Cohen is currently an Institutional Municipal Bond Trader at RBC Capital Markets. He has worked in various trading roles since 2000 when he began his career in finance at Solomon Smith Barney. Dan has been involved in charity work since his days at the State University of New York in Potsdam back in 1996-2000. Since graduating, he has lived in several cities including Las Vegas, Kihei, Maui, and currently resides in New York. Dan leads by example and enhances his reputation, and that of the entire charity Section 16H group team. He exhibits a reputation as a dependable, consistent and trustworthy team player.
Andrew Goldberg has had hospitality running through his veins as far back as his teen years, when he started as a dishwasher for the local pizza joint in his hometown , Hightstown, NJ. He then moved on, to the Princeton Hyatt Hotel , however, he greatly refined and matured his hospitality nature, when he opened Town Restaurant alongside celebrity chef Geoffrey Zakarian. It was in this role, that he gained invaluable hands on experience within the hospitality / food service industry. This then led to his 2003 employment and ultimately achieving partnership / ownership in 2007, with the largest independent hospitality group in the country, the Tao Group.
Andrew and his wife Ryann currently reside in New York City, along with their daughter Harley. Being a Co-founder of the 16 H group (and a die hard Giant’s fan), The Tailgate presents Andrew with the opportunity to raise thousands of dollars, and make a difference in so many people's lives. This brings great joy to Andrew, his partners, and his family.
Since the year 2000, Mark Goldstein has assisted thousands of New York and New Jersey residents through chiropractic care and physical therapy in his multiple locations. Patients visit his clinics for pain relief as well as to simply keep their bodies in an optimal physical state.
The section 16H Group and the charitable work done by the section 16H Group is a source of great pride for Mark. It has allowed for significant contributions to various worthy charities as well as provided an opportunity to work with his lifelong closest friends. These friends all share the same passion for health, exercise, positive mental attitude, and charity.
Mark and his family (Dana , Charli, and Austin Goldstein) currently reside just outside New York City in Bergen County New Jersey.
Paul Goldstein, managing partner of TAO Group’s New York properties, earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management at Greensboro College. Shortly after graduation, Goldstein – a native New Yorker – returned to New York City to pursue a career in hospitality. After a stint with Ark Restaurants (Bryant Park Grill, RED, Sequoia) he moved on to TAO Asian Bistro, the first of the TAO Group venues. As general manager of one of the top earning restaurants in the country, Paul exhibited exemplary leadership skills which translated into a partnership offer from TAO Group principles Marc Packer and Rich Wolf.
In his 16 years with the TAO Group, Paul has spearheaded the development and launch of numerous restaurants and nightclubs within the group, including but not limited to TAO Downtown, LAVO, and Avra Madison. He is currently a TAO Group partner in all venues in New York, Las Vegas and Sydney, Australia.
Spencer Klein is originally from Suffern, New York and currently resides in Santa Monica, California with his wife Lisa and their three sons. After many years working in the film business in New York, for such companies as New Line Cinema, Loews Cineplex Entertainment and The Weinstein Company, Spencer moved to Dallas, Texas to start The Film Group, a film buying company made up of Rave and Bow Tie Cinemas. In 2012, he left The Film Group for an opportunity at 20th Century Fox as the Senior Vice President General Sales Manager.
Spencer currently works at 20th Century Fox as Executive Vice President General Sales Manger where he oversees the theatrical distribution of Fox films in North America. Spencer loves football and the charitable work he does with his childhood friends.
Dr. Michael Kolin has been practicing chiropractic throughout New York City since the year 2000. After graduating from the University of Maryland, Michael went on to Life University where he received his Doctorate in Chiropractic. Michael then took his knowledge of chiropractic with his love and passion for sports, to create and develop multiple chiropractic and sports rehabilitation centers throughout NY and NJ. He later Co-Founded Manhattan Sports Medicine and & Wellness Group, which has become, NY’s premier marketing and management service of integrated sports and physical medicine rehabilitation centers.
Growing up in NY as a huge Giants fan, and a desire to give back to others, lead him to his role in Co-Founding Section 16h Group. “Tailgate for a Cause” as it is also known, has grown from a few friends tailgating to a remarkably unique, tailgate experience, raising thousands of dollars each year for great causes close to our hearts. Michael currently lives in Manhasset, NY with his wife Allison, and two boys, Ryan and Daniel.
Jason Prussian is a Private Mortgage Banker at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. Jason has been in the mortgage industry since 2000. Throughout his career Jason has helped thousands of people achieve their dreams of home ownership and uses his experience to help guide his clients through the mortgage process.
The Tailgate With a Cause is Jason’s favorite day of the year as he gets to enjoy the day with amazing friends raising money and awareness for a great cause.
Jason lives in Roslyn, NY with his wife Dori, and children Jake, Samantha, and Daniel
Mark Selden is the CEO of AllStar Security and CrosStar Network. He is extremely proud of these two companies, having started both from scratch and developing them into the foremost authority in their fields. In addition to these two operating companies, he is currently involved in numerous other ventures, including HiTouch Business Services, Big Daddy's Diner, Alex / Poof Toys, Perky Jerky, and Dukes BBQ NYC.
Mark is a graduate of Syracuse University and is an active alumni who bleeds orange. As a true New Yorker, he lives in NYC with his wife and daughter. He is extremely proud and honored to be part of the Section !6 H group and looks forward to all of their future success stories.
Chef John Villa oversees the operations and strategic development as the President / Partner of Philippe, the acclaimed haute Beijing style eatery, which caters to the ‘who’s who’ in sports, entertainment, fashion as well as many of the top industry business leaders in the world. Having a knack for business from both a strategic and creative lens, with an underlying passion for cooking, Villa will lead their expansion under the Merchant Hospitality Group as they expand their franchise nationwide.
Prior, Chef Villa was the Executive Corporate Chef at TAO, overseeing TAO Uptown and TAO Downtown in New York City which is ranked among the U.S.’s top-grossing restaurants.
In his downtime, he is involved with various philanthropic endeavors including “Kerry’s Kats and Kids,” which helps families battling childhood cancer by providing financial assistance with medical needs, named in honor of his late sister Kerry.
Villa lives in Manhattan with his wife Regina, two children and their two dogs.
Dr. Brian M. Wraith was born and raised in Broad Channel, New York. He attended Cortland College in Cortland, New York and pursued his study of chiropractic at Life University in Marietta, Georgia. Brian now makes his home in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey. Brian currently operates physical medicine offices in northern New Jersey.
The Section 16H Group is a great source of pride for Brian. The effort and devotion displayed by all of the board members has been inspiring as The Section 16H Group has grown from an idea into a 501 (c) (3) charity. He considers the other board members some of his closest friends and truly enjoys working side by side with them in an effort to make a difference.
